Honestly the most amazing thing about the Canadian election is that non-Canadians actually lost sleep waiting to see if PP would lose his seat.

Which he then did.

So... This is what's been going on the past little bit. If you're in the Discord, you know that it's pretty much been resolved now, but I've had to adjust plans for the new workstation build video, and also a video about the things that led me to this tragedy.

Feels weird going through all these old videos getting footage for editing... First of all seeing me so large, but also just... Memories.

It's funny to me that people are talking about "Switch 2" when every Nintendo console launch I can remember has never used a sequential number and were instead referred by the codename, like Ultra64/Reality, Dolphin, Revolution, -uhhhhhh-, NX...

What happened to "Ounce"?

Around 6,000 miles of holiday road trip nearly over, and even got some video clips shot already! Time to get to work.

It’s officially 2025 in Newfoundland as of 20 minutes ago, so I can say happy new year!

Happy holidays everyone! Whatever you celebrate, I hope it’s a great one!ā¤ļø

I can’t wait to share tech videos of my own with you all in 2025!

Haven’t watched the vid yet, but I thought the Honey using codes from creators thing was obvious? It’s just like all those other coupon sites.

It’s all shady af tbh; imo just use the codes that support your favourite creators, even if they aren’t ā€œthe best dealā€.

Cameras and lighting. I’ve heard the words before, but oof, tough to get just right.

It's really awesome how many people have started using Bluesky and Fediverse - It's so much less annoying to me than Twitter, at least from a UI perspective. I'll still post across all my socials anyway because I Have Plansā„¢, but just thought I'd put that appreciation out there.

Weather's been rough, so I haven't been able to go for walks as much as I'd like lately. Good thing I have a lot of reorganization and setup that needs doing to keep me busy!

Also writing. Lots of writing.

A lot of people probably need to hear this right now:

You’re going to be okay.

It’s okay to be scared.

You are not alone.

It’s funny, benchmarking a game or testing out tech for review is way different from the casual experience. A lot of big ticket games like Cyberpunk I used to see as little more than benchmarks.

Been doing a lot of personal development and project planning, no updates yet but I hope to get started soon.

Catching up with my backlog to wind down. Finally playing Cyberpunk, and gotta say, framegen is not perfect but it makes a huge difference to responsiveness.

www.retrorgb.com/new-ess-soundcard.html How interesting! I am actually more personally interested in this than any of the previous retro sound card projects because my first PC had an ES1868-based sound card and I have a huge soft spot for ESFM synth.

I've always wanted to help people. Spread enthusiasm and wonder for tech and so much more. I want to do what little a single person can to make things better, no matter how much, even if it's just for one person. Even if it's just silly.
That's my goal. I just need to do it.

I don't know what comes next. I haven't written it yet. But I am gonna write it. I'm in better shape today than I have been in 12 years, and I have more skills now than ever.

I'm still not an expert at anything, but maybe I've learned just enough to make something out of it.

To everyone who has supported me before or after I announced my transition, sincerely, thank you for giving me the strength to do my best work, even when I didn't feel like I could.

I wish I could do something to repay you, but for now, I need to pick up the pieces and push on.

Every story has an ending, and my time with Linus Media Group is at a close. A lot of my favourite people work there, and I'll always cherish our time together. These were some of the happiest days of my life.

Thank you all so much for supporting me. I wish everyone the best.

Hello, Bluesky! I haven't been super active here, but I figure I should post this here as well.

My favourite part of returning to a Linux install I've neglected for a while is figuring out what random tweaks I made that are now breaking everything, and being too stubborn to reinstall.

Thanks for all the nice comments on today's video! I won't lie, I was a little nervous showing up on camera even for a cameo.

Aside from my transition, I've been working on my weight - I'm down 60lbs over the past year. I'm lighter now than I was when I joined LMG in 2017.

One of these days I'll actually gather enough courage to stream. I've already got the setup for it mostly done, I just never feel like it's ready.

AI music is... A thing. It's scary how quickly it went from not really being a thing to being subjectively a lot more sophisticated than image generation.

As with most generative AI, it's fun to play with but I deeply fear the commercial applications - and the owners of the training data.

People ask why I’m so into retro stuff. It might partly be because I grew up with an also-ran console that makes me interested in the stuff I’ve missed out on and never heard of.

Fan translations in the 2000s stoked that fire - A lot of what makes up modern gaming and tech is lost in obscurity!
