Vietnamese rules because if you know they use the same alphabet as English you're like "that should be easier for me to pronounce". And then you see the words and they're like: ôh ỷợư thĩnk sồ đụmb ằss??

i think if i were developing a writing system i would try some other stuff before putting multiple diacritics on the same letter but that’s just me

back in the day if you tried to say pho to a vietnamese person instead of phō they would look at you like you’d grown a second head and be like “i can’t possibly understand what nonsense you’re even saying right now” and i’ve always really respected that
