I definitely dont understand why people still wanna play defense for Harry potter. Even outside of rowlings horrible evil views, the show is such an obvious cash grab and most likely will not even hold up to the original movies. Shes just been shilling out ever since the movies ended tbh :/

From a business standpoint WB is desperate to have more big IP's they can milk and all of them keep having flops. Harry Potter is their Star Wars.

From another side of things... I see a lot of brits less willing to put down the fandom and I think it might have gotten mixed into some national pride.

Pop-culture is dominated by the USA and HP is the biggest piece of media out of Britain since the Beatles, nothing else comes close to its international appeal/fame/influence/etc.

The rich can never leave enough alone. Enough money to live off of, for the rest of their lives, a thousand times over, even with interest from bank accounts accruing, will never satisfy them. They have an insatiable need for more and more money.
