I’m not sure who’s responsible for putting laptop firmware updates inside KDE’s Discover app, but bravo. I can’t imagine how much effort it would have taken to have this functional and stable and “Just Work” ™️

Was a little worried about running Linux on a dual gfx laptop but been smooth sailing 👏

A recent Windows 11 update removed by desktop background to display the rotating Microsoft™ approved photos. I've been too lazy to fix it, but it recently gave me this image while I was working in WSL

The past week the subscription button on youtube has been broken, and now they moved where it is so that the shorts button on the side bar is where the old button was so I keep clicking it by accident

The GR-524 nixie tube is an extremely rare symbol tube made by Rodan-Okaya of Japan. The tube shows the days of the week in abbreviated Kanji.

At a HardOff I caught a glimpse of an oldschool Japanese mechanical typewriter. The Nippon Type PanWriter types in 3 colours and somehow impacts one of the over 2300 glyphs onto the paper after the user manually slides over the rows & columns and presses down to type it. (Zoom in for the details)

I liked complicated systems and in hs I had to pick mechanics or computers and I picked computers

I’m still proud of my first year mechanics course where we tore down and inventoried a lawn mower engine. We were graded on how long it ran after assembly and ours was the only one that didn’t stop.

I ordered a FireWire architecture book which for some reason is out of print now so had to settle with a used copy from Amazon.

Apparently whoever keyed this into the database simply titled the book as "Book" so now I have these omninous messages in my inbox.
