The tools for destroying a liberal democracy are not the same as those for building one.

As with terrorism, that the enemy’s tactics have an effect is not evidence of effectiveness. Democrats could turn a federal agency into a paramilitary and use it to terrorize Americans, but to what end?

OP wasn't advocating for the terrorization of random Americans. They were advocating for justice. ICE is terrorizing innocent Americans. Handcuffing the non-innocent fascists (read: those in power and those who have committed crimes) is justice.

I understand the sentiment but I think it's a mistake. Having those things as things POTUS can do at his discretion is bad. Establish that they are *crimes*, and put people in prison for them.

Hmm. If i read GLHM correctly, the tools of destruction would be used to excise the tyrannical parts of what we have now which once was a imperfect but heading in a good direction system.

The rebuilding and tyranny-proofing part would be like the end of WW2, less the gross errors, we hope.

Which is, frankly, underpants gnome logic. The methods and tools of MAGA are 1. destroying the federal government 2. Using it to terrorize people. Neither of those are helpful to radically reorganizing the country and tyranny-proofing it.
