like awesome enough that I priced a train ticket and overnight hotel to come see. It's out of budget, but $50 less it might have been a thing I decided to do, because a mini trip would be nice and that is the advantage of Denver — Chicago is accessible as an overnight.

I did that run in coach last month and ... well, I survived, but I sure didn't sleep great.

I'm definitely veering off-topic, but a roomette is definitely the way to go. I took Amtrak from Chicago to Flastaff, and it was great. This was after I did Boston to Chicago overnight in coach and swore never again. I'm still wondering if I can justify the next room size up for my next trip.

Coach for that leg isn’t terrible IF it’s not crowded. (it’s leave at 7pm, arrive around noon-2 or later if BNSF is being an asshole in Iowa, which they often are) So winters are generally better. When coach is crowded, it’s a mess.
