Star trek is so fun. Directly after the super intense episode that's basically "debate club discusses if Data should be allowed to live" we get "Wesley dates a were-bear"
Had to do a vegetation quadrat survey today, & on the way home realized a ladybug had hitched a ride on me because it was trying to EAT MY ARM. Never been mauled by a ladybug before
I've bitched about shows being too dark, but the opposite, shows being over lit is even worse. It makes it all so flat & fake looking and gives me a headache when the light isn't matching where the light sources ostensibly are
One of the most amazing people I've ever worked with had been a programmer for NASA back when computers still used punchcards. She's fucking brilliant & still talks about it as when she was "a secretary at nasa" Here's a hand for all of the people placing the stones that led here, recognized or not!
Gotta love all the accounts that post debunked AI shit, & even with all the comments pointing it out they leave it up & get 3k+ likes. Cool. Cool cool cool.
Oh no... the excuse I was looking for to get one of those xteink pocket devices & figure out removing drm from my existing library so I never have to use the amazon website again... oh gosh, just so awful to get this final push...
of study because the college has deemed it too "woke" (art, social studies). Everyone but the business & marketing majors feels under attack already. That said there are protests & organizing still very much happening. Give the kids a break though. Ask why our electeds aren't doing more to help
Also, I find it very strange how the media is laser focused on what college students are or aren't doing. This is a small portion of the population trying to navigate strange times, worrying if your career is obsolete (comp sci, env sci, etc..) or if your university is going to eliminate your field
Yesterday my college sent an email begging the CEOAS students not to drop out, with a list of alternate jobs to consider if we were preparing for a government job. Very depressing. Literally a list of "if you wanted to get into NOAA consider this, NPS these, USFS, EPA, NIH etc..."
I got asked a week ago what kind of nightmares I have, & had to be like "it really varies". Over the last 3 nights I've had nightmares about: finding out all the charities I was donating to were actually conservative PACs, rescuing a mouse but I trip & its head falls off, & working customer service
Watching x-files. This seems so fake. Nobody posts on twitter, they travel on normal planes, & at no point does Mulder deck himself out in his own merch. It's ridiculous
