Honestly the lawyers totally biffed this. How is this man's WIFE not on the lawsuit. How was she not called as a witness. It's one of the few things said that is defamatory per se FOR HER if false, but they're so focused on how it makes this sad cop feel they fail to bring the real claim.

Would that mean she should have been a party to the trial? Very speculative on my part, but I wonder if there is some (financial?) reason only the cops are party here. Like if the attorney is provided by the police union or something.

The reason is the deputies wanted to chill Afroman’s speech. They were not actually looking for a strong cause of action. They were upset about trespass to feelz and ass chafe in the first degree.

How this went to trial after discovery is beyond me. Presumably most of the parties were deposed and everyone could get a sense of how things would go at trial.

My personal favorite part was the absolute refusal of Afroman to allow the plaintiffs to weaponize a white woman’s tears.
