The idea was to get as many EVs into the system as possible: from govt depts to “rich people” … it also serves to kick-start the second hand EV market.

The benefit to the overall national fleet is rarely discussed. A new car soon becomes a second hand car (and a second hand car soon becomes a third hand car)

Why oh why are the low income workers reliant on their cars not grateful for the opportunity to buy used EVs they also cannot afford, or a battery for the ones which may fall into their price bracket. No assistance, just be grateful they exist.

Like I said "trickle down". Always successful 🙄. It didn't have to be set up that way to have achieved the same thing. As usual it is just more incrementalism that ultimately benefits those who least need assistance.

Again, we know the point was trickledown. Trickledown which left low income workers long term vulnerable to inability to afford to do their jobs or cover the cost of living.

Exactly.

This drive to create classes of entitled and not entitled is just as bad and unproductive as when the right play it the other way...plus creates way more admin burdens...

Oh exactly the same is it? We see means testing all the time from rw National and Labour yet suddenly it's a no. What happened was there was a class of entitled and not. Those who were in a position to purchase because the entitled, those who didn't did not.
