Maybe the character adapted as male in the movie was the POV character in the book and it was written in first person, only referring to themselves as "I", "me" etc
Well there are two explinations for that. Either shes bi or shes trying very hard to keep up the apperance of a straight woman in a time period were saphic love was very much not allowed
Loser shit. This IS canon Fritzi. Caroline Cash is the official Nancy writer and artist in 2026. 90 year old comic strips are allowed to update themselves to make sense and appeal to modern audiences. Also just because someone dated men in the past does not make them automatically straight. Grow up
Okay but this is a newspaper gag strip; "canon" is flexible and updates over time. Many things can be true at once, especially when it comes to comics canon! ๐
One of the joys of reading. the imagination that comes with picturing how the characters would look before they're made into set in stone (usually) designed to be only the movie version/looks. ;3;
Utterly failing at working productively at home while the Quantum fiber lady is working on our Internet. There are noises! Technical questions! I can't work under these conditions because my brain wants to fret instead
I heard this happening to black people, they are reading a book imagining the characters, and suddenly they read something and realize every character was white all along. They assumed their race onto the characters, which i assume we all do. But it made me realize how different we all read books
