It's so bizarre.

Every single evidence is that trans people commits less violent crimes than non-trans. Fascism is linked to praising the greatest crime of the last century.

But "trans ideology" was considered a self-evident explanation, while "he is fascist" isn't. Insanely backwards.

That's because it's not about the reality of it. It's about projecting a reason to convince people outside the group to hate the group. Doesn't matter if it's true, as long as they say it enough, it'll convince people who don't know better and that is justification to kill us.

The entire 2024 election was about the supremacy of narrative over truth. People were willing to ignore everything true about Trump for the narratives he promised. They were willing to twist every word to fit their narrative.

The exact same is true of immigrants, including undocumented immigrants. More likely to be a victim than everyone else, less likely to be a perpetrator. But everyone wants to hurt the Other.

I don't want to blame movies, but mental illness is still so stigmatized in this country and so few understand the trans community that I think it can be easy to suggest that a trans person is "mentally ill" and thus prone to violence. Zero evidence, as you say, but who needs evidence?
