Is there a white gel pen that isn’t ass?

Don’t say gelly roll or sharpie paint pens

I think the problem is, white ink with good opacity has a lot of pigment and is therefore going to clog a pen with fine tip no matter what. Gelly rolls are alright if you use the 1 or 08 size, while 05 almost always clogs up after like 2 uses. This has been a consistent experience for me at least

True! I’m gonna try and avoid the smaller tips. I don’t mind 1mm

I’ve adapted to using a white charcoal pencil and hard white wax pastel.

The pastel gives off a blue grey tinge when mixed on the page which isn’t ideal but it can cut through a lot where the charcoal can’t.

I’d LOVE a solid gel pen for an absolute white. One that doesn’t cut through its own pigment or go dry after half a painting

OR blob gobs of white

Had some luck with acrylic markers. Molotow specifically. Will watch this closely for a better answer.

No leads on a gel pen but I’ve seen people mention using acrylic paint and very fine brushes for certain things like eye shines

That’s a very solid approach. I have been known to source paint from the cap of white paint bottle for fine line work. It’s just a hassle to have paint open when I’m mostly working with pens 🥲
