Astrogeologically, that actually makes sense. The Moon is a remnant of a planet that collided with Earth when the solar system was still forming, called Theia.
Granted Theia is a feminine name iirc, but I'd say that humanity is just using her chosen name before (quite literally) transitioning. 🤷

There's no liquid water on the surface, but there COULD be liquid water beneath.
Life on the Moon would have to be subterranean, but all life needs 5 things: energy, food, water, space, and stimulation. It could be argued that the moon has all of these characteristics, so life is POSSIBLE here!
