I knew the character interactions were already a highlight of Strive but I do want to see how all these stories end. Each of them are engaging. It really seems like Strive is an epilogue where every DLC character gets a wrap up. Makes me want to see them all. I suspect Bridget or El to be my main.

Just finished catching up on the story of Guilty Gear except Strive. I expected a lot of relationships to be similar to Blazblue but they really are their own flavor. Never expected “That Man” to go down that path or for Elphelt and Ramlethal to be such an emotional core.

Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 has reignited my interest back in that franchise but I’ve never touched a single game in the series. I was always more of a Blazblue guy. Is there a retrospective or story summary for the series that people generally recommend in the vein of Clement or Thorgi’s style?

It's not talked about as often, but after Cave Story and La-Mulana blew up I'd say the third indie Metroidvania to truly take off was Dust: An Elysian Tail. It's not talked about as often anymore, but the story was more pronounced than others of its kind and the combat was fast and kinetic.

Would you believe that Tomba! is one of that last non Metroid/Castlevania Metroidvanias that released in the wake of Super Metroid? The gaps in this genre outside those two are brutal sometimes. But Tomba! is well worth your time as one of my contributors, @ribbonnanza.bsky.social, will tell you!

Another reason to bemoan Konami not localizing the upcoming Goemon Collection? We are once again missing out on Ganbare Goemon 3, which is a Metroidvania in execution but a Zelda-like in structure. The overworld is from a top-down view while dungeons are side scrolling. Think an advanced Zelda 2.

I loathe phone calls. I called, spoke to my representatives and senators and demanded that they do something, impeach him, remove him from office, whatever it takes. Who knows if they will, but I've got to do something in the middle of this madness.
