No. 4: Hated by All the Right People by Jason Zengerle. It’s not a badly written book, and there’s some interesting inside baseball on how the media works (I didn’t know Tucker gave Maddow her start). But Tucker just isn’t an interesting enough figure to fill a book. There’s less than meets the eye.

I did not know anything about Tucker’s background before reading this, but “father was a major journalist who got his start going transvestigation and later became an ambassador to an island destination“ is just so utterly predictable

Almost nothing about Tucker’s biography is surprising. Shithead in high school who mocked the murder of Black people; bad student who got into a second tier rich kid school (Trinity) bc his girlfriend’s headmaster father called in a favor; consistently failed in college bc he didn’t come to class;
