It takes a certain amount of psychological strength to own up to your mistakes, and if you cannot, your psyche will protect you by not understanding

I think it takes a normal amount of psychological strength but lazy parenting doesn't achieve even that, instead infecting the kids with a huge parasiTick ego that rules their life and protects itself at all costs. There should be a secret alien invasion horror movie about that.
