All three of my partners were born in the mid-1940s. The 1952 epidemic happened when they were old enough to not only remember it, but also know people affected by it.

That left lasting impressions which they and other relatives told us about — and I’m glad they did.

I had a cousin who lived with polio (shortened leg and a club foot), had 2 kids, became a psychiatrist and then continuous decline as she aged (died in her late 80s). She lived what many wld call a full life…but not an easy time as an elder at all

From what you said, it sounds like your cousin had a hard life in lots of ways. Fortunately, she had a long one… and it sounds like that was a good thing for all who knew and loved her.
