Wouldn't the specific stuff they're cracking down on potentially be covered by obscenity laws?

Potentially (being honest, I only heard about those here in the US yesterday), but regardless, as those laws are in direct opposition to the US constitution (freedom of speech and all that), those laws shouldn't be allowed to go through and should be fought tooth and nail.

They've existed for a long time though. It's just that they haven't been tested as much in the internet age.

Not saying I disagree, I just think there's a much longer chain here than people realize
