The EPA is forcing 124 of its scientists and researchers to accept reassignments and 35 of them are being told to pack up and move to a new city if they want to keep their jobs.

Many will probably pack up and move to a new country.

This is not even the first culling of these scientists.
These times are going to be looked back on like the dark ages. Trump and the republicans are trying to destroy the world.

Trump is creating a large pool of new deep state science leaders for us to pull from when this is over.

When they don't move they are fired and not replaced thus not running a foul of various regulations.

My son has been on the chopping block since Trump happened. He's a Title 6 policy and procedure writer, but it's for a state. (The feds cut it in the beginning.) Daughter works in wildlife rehab and education, and it's almost all donors now. As people's belts tighten so will donations.

Well, John Roberts says corporations are “people”. They sure are getting their money’s worth. Lee Zeldin has to be held responsible for the environmental disasters that are coming.

Oh, they only love science when it’s a great story of 4 astronauts going to the moon and back in triumph.

DJT also did that in 2019 to dismantle agencies and reward red states.
In 2019, he forced the relocation of two USDA research agencies and the NI of Food and Agriculture from DC to the Kansas City area. It resulted in half of the employees quitting rather than relocating, causing staffing shortages.

My daughter's BFF was told to return to office from a remote work. Because there was no office space in her own city, she was forced to relocate about 900 miles from home. She now drives to an office to do remote work in person, 900 miles from home.

The federal Environmental Protection Act of 1972 set up the EPA, established its headquarters, mission, staffing and funding requirements. I suspect the nut, Zeldunce is doing this without Congressional approval.

If they have to move to a new city, they just might decide to move to a different country where they'll get more money, respect, and better working conditions. This administration is nothing but morons and that is a real slam to morons.

none of this bullshite will last

If I were a fed worker who was asked to do some ridiculous thing, I would start using up all the vacation, sick and personal time I have, and try to make it last a year or so until most of these KKKabinet KKKlowns are impeached or resign

Of course. Move to a more expensive city with no extra pay or moving assistance so when they quit it is their fault, not the EPA's fault.

No doubt, it will go through the legal system, determined illegal....but too late to undo the damage to citizen's careers, livlihoods, families, neighborhoods, communites, trust, not to mention all that the epa scientists do and that fucking huge impact....

This isn’t a reorganization it’s a shutdown. The Trump administration is dissolving the EPA’s entire Office of Research and Development the division responsible for the science behind clean air and water standards.

No ORD means no independent research. No chemical risk assessments. No scientific firewall between industry lobbyists and federal health policy. They’re not just cutting jobs. They’re cutting the part of the EPA that tells us the truth.

I remember what the air quality was like 45 years ago in Vancouver Canada. The smog was so bad I couldn't see the mountains 1 mile away. Because of improved vehicle emissions, and industrial pollution reduction, those days are gone. trump knows what those days were like but wants to increase profits
