It has been my experience that most people on e-scooters drive without any regard to the law, or their own safety. Hell, there’s almost never a day that goes by when I don’t see a pedestrian do something incredibly stupid, like make a sudden turn into a road without looking. The road is dangerous.

And I've seen a Hummer EV driver (and many others) texting and driving. Can scooter riders be reckless? Sure. Can they kill a family of four by negligence? No.

One of those is very plainly the much much bigger crisis.

I just saw a kid on an e-bike cut across a lawn, while looking at his phone, run into a kid on an e-scooter. 😂 They both walked away from the collision, but while that was happening, another teen was crossing the street in front of me while looking at his phone.
