these IBM micro channel SCSI look like the male end equivalent, although yours is 40 pin and these are 60.

Why do you think it's SCSI? Look at the alignment lugs.

going off of the shape and design. it could be an expansion slot, absolutely. i looked at many 40 pin connectors on the market and this is the closest i found to anything nearing that exact shape. i have zero doubt a SCSI drive could also have alignment lugs.
