I've never thought of it this way. I don't see a ton of strategic advantage for them promoting the hell out of Orban, other than weakening Europe which is, for some ridiculous reason, a goal of theirs.

There are videos of crowds chanting "Russia out" with no one saying anything about Trump.
Asking for US visit to deliver support and cash in the final weeks of an election is a show to make him appear less Russian controlled.
I bet he invited Trump himself to come before they sent Vance.

I saw the video. Love it.
I've seen it reported that the Vance visit turned out to be a net negative for them in the polls.
What worries me is all the dirty stuff they would do behind the scenes. They've shown themselves to be the scum of the earth that hate real democracy.
