This is could well be a historic midterm for Democrats.

Don’t waste it on centrists who won’t come through when it matters. Run vocal progressives.

You won’t end Trumpism without anti-corruption crusaders and warriors for social and economic justice who believe in taxes & big, universal programs.

Primaries. Everyone needs to vote in the primaries. They’re as important as the general election. That’s where we decide if we get a Bernie or a Hillary

I agree and I’m a centrist! I guess I’m a progressive centrist since I will never vote republican in its current form but if they ever have any good ideas, I’ll adopt them. They only have ideas but never meant following thru on any of them. They lost all moral compass.

We as a country need to look and vote for leaders who have a good track record of working for the people and who will never take any money from PACs or super PACs. Corps want so bad to be treated as a person in our tax code? Then they are subject to the contribution limits for individual people.

Democrats:

“Hear that! A *historic* midterm!

“How shall we fuck it up?”

You're assuming centrists aren't anti-corruption. Honestly, everyone with any sense of morality at all is anti-corruption. Democrats should run who they need to run in every seat in every state to WIN. Running progressives everywhere to gain 30% of the government means you have NO power at all.

Centrists are donor proxies. They don't actually speak for their constituents.

How many more decades are 'progressives' going to keep fantasizing about taking over and reforming the party? It's been the plan for over five decades now, and the party is more corrupt and devoted to big money than ever. It needs to die to make room for an actual people's party.

I think the plan called "The Money Agenda" is a decent place to start with actionable items.

Raises the minimum wage to an indexed COL.

Eliminates the FIT up to this COL amount. (~$45K)

Imposes surtax on those making over $1M

More here.

Does anyone have a straightforward outline for how to implement ranked choice voting for our primaries so electing progressives is a real possibility?

Couldn’t agree with this more. It’s truly the only way real change will occur, and past time to restructure the party towards that end.

I've got a terrible idea: Dems shouldn't prosecute corruption. Dems should let global child sex trafficking rackets stay unprosecuted. Tell the victims they don't matter. Let it all happen again!
Just forgive the ringleaders who attempted a violent overthrow.

Even better: donate/support @aftynbehn.bsky.social right now, today.

Election Day is Dec 2; she can win the gerrymandered #TN07 with a high enough turnout.

In any case yeah, this seat has turned into an actual pickup opportunity. And maybe the donors and larger social media influencers can let themselves take that seriously after the Virginia blue bloodbath.

The young left needs to take over the party. Bernie, Warren, Whitehouse, and other actual lefty elder statespeople need to step back and build a support network for the young left. They need to be a bulwark against the entrenched party heads and shift funding channels so they go to the young left.

Most of the seats we hope to flip will need to be moderate candidates.
Are you suggesting we primary the more safe seats?

Vote aggressively!!!! Now is not the time to waffle and split our vote! Once we get rid of this regime, we can vote as needed. Stronger together!

They want us to think we live on a fla spectrum with progressives at the radically fringe left. But really progressives aren't radicals at all.

The REAL split between centrists and progressives is over whether we have big problems. Centrists think not, so want no change or minimal change.

Once you understand that we have big problems, big solutions don't seem radical, they seem proportional.

When you have big problems, failure to mount an effective and proportional response is what seems radical.

Ok but we can't trust progressives on civil rights. Look at Bernie.

Believe this is our future. As we just watched again, the same “moderates” are last weeks cavers + Schumer.

If you like the current trajectory of the country, look to the center. It’s likely any Dem will win this year.

But business as usual has failed.

This moment needs big swings:

- Massive taxes on the rich
- Antitrust overhaul
- Anti-corruption probes
- Medicare-for-all
- Voting rights overhaul

This is the opportunity to really end Trumpism—not through 10-year plans.

End it by cutting off its blood supply: the conditions that allowed it to rise.

Wield government as the instrument of justice.

Any Dem can win. So make your choices based on who will go biggest.

For real on corruption probes. And investigations. No bs excuses about appearing political or biased in investigations. Need that law and order. Actual law and order. Actual sccountability. Actual jail time. Needed it a decade ago. Need it now. Not negotiable.

Getting money out of politics needs to be priority one. Publicly funded elections is a great solution. Once the government is being run by people just doing the job, instead of endlessly fundraising for their next campaign, things will change.

Don't repeat the same mistakes. Identity politics won't work. It's all about the economy and prices

Put the power back to the states. Federal Government just needs to be neutered until it can be reformed.

The entire data system needs to be rebuilt after the DOGE intrusions. Entire Federal agencies need to be abolished and others rebuilt with new Mission Statments.

Medicare For All and UBI.

Universality is key.
Universal basic income.
Universal healthcare.
Universal college.
Universal childcare.

We need to make a NEW New Deal with all Americans. We're all in this together.
