I knew a guy who knocked down a load bearing wall in his house, then bought a pipe to prop up the structure, and he called himself a genius.

I knew a guy who dropped his entire house on himself when he was underpinning his foundation to dig out the basement. (and not paying a qualified contractor to do it for him).
