It doesn't but it's what politicians tell the gullible public. LNP, more so than the ALP, care more about big business than ordinary Australians.

Anything that has been privatised has cost us, including our Govts more!

I have .. but .. often works better for goods than services, there has to be some rational and discoverable basis for price comparison and it’s usually in “naturally competitive”markets — not concocted ones that can be gamed.

Making it quite unlikely to work for social service provisioning. 🤔🙄

I in the 90's witnessed Kennett and Stockdale's attempt to introduce Thatcherism into Victoria with their privatisation of the State owned power utility, State Electricity Commission with their vows that it would lower power prices, what a crock of shit. Latrobe Valley area was decimated.
