I always watched subbed because this is what dubbed used to sound like. Dubs have gotten significantly better though. Anyone claiming that dubbed anime sounds awful is thinking of stuff like this. Also, I'm not so sure it isn't AI generated. The way they pronounce "199X" is the biggest clue.

Appaently there are actual dubbing credits. People are saying they outsourced to South Africa.

the ridiculously short credits do have some real people's names attached to it, even if the two lead characters only have credits going as far back as 2022.

See you think we’d have that “at least we have subbed” fallback uncle, but now a bunch of companies are pushing ai subtitles, which don’t even come close, and when called out they go “huh, that’s weird… we’ll have the ai try again!”
