The point I made is the money paid into SS and Medicare is part of your paycheck. It should never have been termed entitlement to begin with; unless you think your paycheck should be called an entitlement. I'm surprised how upset U are that I dared challenge a term in use I believe to be a misnomer.

It was termed entitlements because that's literally what they are, though. That's *my* point. We paid into it, we're entitled to it. Literally the definition of entitlement - something we're owed.

And it's a misnomer- it is deferred pay. They should not have used the word "entitlements". If they hadn't people wouldn't have spent the last 70 years mudding it up to the point that now it's like it was never your money to begin with. Another def. of it is: inherently deserving of privileges.
