if you’re an artist don’t call your art a “quick doodle” even if it is because it’s always so much better than anything i can do and really demotivating

By the way if you do art on the PC, I'd suggest using a drawing tablet of some sort. I've used a PC mouse for like almost 10 years now but the stylus is faster than the mouse with just a week or 2 of practice imo.

Forgive the rubbish photo as I was trying to grab it over his (very humble) shoulder, but here is what my father dismissed as “just scribbling in front of the TV” which was a major affront to talent-less me 😂

As an Artist I find this to be a gorgeous piece of Art. Definately one of the highest end "scribbling" Ive ever seen!

FWIW, our quick doodles are leaves that grow on a tree we planted decades ago and spent every day watering. None of it is “talent,” it’s just dedication x time.

Art is funny, very few get rich and famous for it, lots of kids go to school, get a ba, ma , phd, but good paying jobs tend to be NOT art, calling what you do a “quick doodle” is a way to feel superior in a world that undervalues most artists. Ignore them, do what you love

If you call it a "sketch" it better have lots of messy redrawn lines and bad fill and not be perfect lineart with smooth shading
