I'd say Rock's speech in that episode hasn't aged well, but I remember the youtube comments even back around 2010 where people were like, "Rock, those guys did the Holocaust, wtf?"

Yeah, but I'm being a bit facious here. Revys problem here isn't the fact that rock is being sympathetic to dead nazis, its the fact that the two of them have a conflicting view over the sanctity of life and death. Revy would have pillage the submarine and slaughtered the people on the boat

No matter who it was. The author choose nazis so the viewer would sympathize with Revys side and not be disturbed by her pyschopathy.
