I think different people may be talking about different types of redemption.

I don't think Louis CK should be destitute on the street for the rest of his life. I also don't think that there is some societal imperative to let him basically make it back to near the peak of his career.

I think Vick is entitled to live a normal, dignified life after getting out of prison regardless of whether or not he tried to atone though it reflects well on him that he has.

I don't think that if he could still perform he would be entitled to a chance to start in the NFL again.
