Thank you for posting this. The Trevor Project also provides voice and digital (phone-based text, computer-based chat) services with trained counselors for young LGBTQ people in crisis. www.thetrevorproject.org/get-help/

You helping anyone move monetarily? It's not that easy to just pick up and move. I'm stuck in a red state, but I'm standing my ground here regardless unless I win the lottery lol

Not the first if you count the Trevor project. Plus 988 has an lgbtq option and has for years. Plus it's a he'll of a lot easier to dial 988

A hotline like this saved my life. If you need to talk to someone, talk to someone. You are not alone. If you need help, reach out. If you need to talk, talk. YOU ARE NOT ALONE #transgender #suicide #LGBTQIA #LGBT

Ignore people like this person I posted below. I am living proof to the contrary.

If you cared about saving lives, you would not be stealing talented artists lives by using AI to generate images. Do better.

This is very bittersweet to see… It’s obviously amazing that this hotline exists, but it’s so sad to see that it’s even necessary

W/ trans lifeline they also one of the few that won’t call the cops on you for intervention if they feel you’re a direct harm risk to yourself. they still have to call for risk of threat to a child / other but in terms of risk to self it’s a huge plus to know your support won’t accidentally SWAT you

looking into this it would appear that this specific hotline has a policy to not call the police to your location, which is really cool to see

however, you should still be careful with other hotlines, because a lot of them (especially 988) have been known to contact police and admit you (1/2)

to mental facilities. (I know this because I have witnessed it happening to someone I know myself) (2/2)

I didn't catch the name, but there was an idiot on Channel 4 in the UK last night who was claiming that suicide was an innate aspect of being trans, completely oblivious to the role of the right in making trans people feel suicidal just to peddle an argument against trans rights. 😡

Has been the thing since always. Denigrate and dehumanize trans people, then blame any issues on them being trans.

But of course, they meanwhile get tons of columns about people not accepting them.

My first reaction to Trump is a huge eye roll. Next is “What a buffoon” or “Oh, geez, more Republican buffoonery!”, followed by another eye roll.

They will not call police or anyone or even ask your name.

There's more! They will not call anyone else to help unless you EXPLICITLY ASK THEM too. Their policies are against doing anything against the caller's consent.

That way if you haven't come out of the closet or don't have a back up in a bad spot (+ more), you won't be unnecessarily outed!

Hotlines like this have never helped anyone, and posting them is proof you have zero interest in helping people. You just want to make yourself feel better.

My continued survival refutes your argument

This is patently untrue. Hotlines like this have often helped people, and spreading disinformation is proof that you want trans people to kill themselves.

The Trevor Project suicide hotline saved my life. It is so sad to hear you deterring people from a life saving service.

If any conservatives call this number to harass or shame the staff, I will do my duties to spit towards them.

Thank you for sharing this, though I hope trolls won't attempt to abuse this hotline out of sheer hatred and spite.
