Remember, there was no Union Army. It was always the American Army. "The Union" didn't fight the Confederacy. The United States of America fought traitos. They pretend that their treason dissolved the USA and that the conflict was between two nations. No. It was and will always be treason.
It was an attempted breakaway by a treasonous faction of the U.S.
Of course, it’s important to recognize the history books would record it differently if they’d succeeded in their secession. But unless we’re exploring “alternate history” it’s moot.
My ancestors fought with the 1st Vermont Cavalry. One of them received the Medal of Honor for kicking Confederate redneck ass in Chancellorsville. I believe readmission was a mistake. We should have burned everything to ash, salted the ground, and told Mexico “Have at it. All yours.”
"Losers" is right. But the losers of the Civil War haven't yet been defeated. That Trump is still in office and Republicans control Congress is proof that the racist sexist oligarchs of the Confederacy remain undefeated. It is up to us to finish the job and put the crimials in prison.
A guy down here in Florida rides around with a confederate flag. I told him he was supposed to fly his other flag today. Which one? He asked. The white one. He didn't like that. 😎
I bet some people will say "oh but they sacrificed their lives for their values"... GOOD! Every single bigoted fuckcunt SHOULD legitimately die for their beliefs.
It was pretty sick that Arlington National Cemetery started life as Robert E. Lee's estate and the Union captured it, threw his wife off the property, and started burying their war dead there
The twat was also the stable genius who thought Pickett's Charge was a good idea. He should have been court martialled into oblivion for that one alone, never mind the actual treason.
I think one of the biggest mistakes in how we talk about the Civil War is referring to the US military as the “Union army”… it wasnt. It was the US Military fighting a rebellion/ insurrection.
💯 this. My husband is 5th Gen Texan & named after a Texan Lt Col & traitorous General. Yrs ago, when the statues were coming down, I told my mother in law what her S. pride represented to someone like me. How the worship of what are quite simply traitors said about the value of non white Am’s.
The confederacy is one of the most short lived countries in the world. Even the Republic of Texas, modern Cascadians, and wannabe Republic of California have had better chances at lasting then them.
Not to mention that they use the wrong Confederate Flags for “Historical Significance”
Some rando Lost Causer in the YT comment section for a “Union Dixie” upload demanded to know why the song called the south traitors and slavers and I just said, “I dunno, dude, talk to the Union soldiers that made it”
Guess he couldn’t do that because he didn’t reply, lol
It’s nice knowing liberals and Blue States aren’t willing to fight and defend the Constitution as southern states were in 1861 (whether you agree or not, slavery WAS a constitutional right).
I believe quite a few people have died fighting ICE. Perhaps you've seen the protests? Kids losing eyes for taking pictures. We're fighting, we're just not storming the capital for violent fun. And we're doing it all for free.
My favorite factoid about this song is that Ernie Ford went hard not just on this pro-Union song, he also went super hard on a *pro* confederate album where he sang Dixie to its actual melody. Played both sides
This is a picture of my great grandpa. He fought for the US army as a 16 year old during the Civil War. This is a later pic. (For those of you who are wondering about the math he was in his 70's when my grandma was born.)
The “culture and heritage” that flag represents in a that of chattel slavery. And the desire to own other human beings being so strong that they were willing to commit treason,go to war against their own country and kill 650,000 people. And then of coarse to still be losers in every way at the end.
Please send this to Curt Rebelein, chair of Pete Hegseth’s high school board, who proudly drives around his confederate flag car. His email is on the Forest Lake Area school district website
My cousin from VA asked her father, why they had lost the civil war. My uncle, brought up in MA, said, we didn't lose the war, then realized they taught things different in the South.
