One of the most important things to know is that it is NOT ILLEGAL to LIVE in the USA even if they entered without a permit. Entering without a visa is a code violation, not a felony. Remaining is not a crime unless they fail to leave when ordered to leave- BY AN IMMIGRATION JUDGE.

And if an immigration judge decides you are in the US legally, what then? Can ICE scoop you up, put you in a prison camp or jail, and deport you? That's what they did to my friend. He should have never filed for citizenship.
