tbf it makes perfect sense if you're familiar with evangelicals. Nothing gets their dicks harder than performative misery and forcing everyone else to do it too

Irish Catholics loved to drink and sing.

German Lutherans loved drink and sing, and they made a much better beer than native born whites.

So they were both on the prohibition hate lists.
