The incumbent party almost always does badly in by-elections.

Even if you are not normally a Green voter, a tactical vote, to stop Reform's crowing like a preening cockerel, makes sense.

Whilst we still have a First-past-the-post system, many have the only option to vote for "the most acceptable candidate most likely to beat the least acceptable candidate that's in the running to win". Which is tactical voting.

I don't represent the Green Party, though I agree with many of their policies such as Climate Change and Wealth Inequality.

I am not representative of everyone who will choose to vote for them (or against Reform) in the by-election.

Not everyone at all.

When you choose to vote for a party, do you agree with 100% of their policies, or 80%? Every election I check the manifesto policies before choosing who to vote for.

Personally, I AM a tactical voter. Not everyone is.

Parties are no longer loyal to voters. I reciprocate.

In most of my 40 odd years voting, for several parties, that's what my vote has nearly always been. It's what FPTP requires.
