Anyway, ICE must be abolished and we should not tolerate positions that are mealy mouthed about it.

DHS too. If there's necessary functions, move them back to their original departments so they're less centralized, like moving the coast guard back to the Dept of Transportation

A lot of people here are too young to remember the creation of DHS and all the controversy around it. I remember thinking at that time it sounded like a terrible idea. Now it's become entrenched, but if we can eliminate the Department of Education, which is way older, we can eliminate DHS.

it's tragic and terrible that it took this long, but i am so happy that it seems like public outrage is reaching a tipping point in the US. i really hope this energy only grows!

My coworker was defending the Gestapo Nazis before shift change last night and it was wildly uncomfortable. He's one of those that are completely and utterly beyond help so it was just agony for the first hour and a half of my shift

sorry you have to go through that. i’d jump right into that conversation, “so you are ok with the government taking your guns then and killing you?” let that fucker devolve the conversation into “whatabout hillary’s emails?”

This shits so annoying bc when you got coworkers you have to see for 9 hours a day every day who are beyond saving you kinda just have to try and ignore it rather than escalate an argument and make the rest of your existence at the job even more unbearable

Yeah, sucks having coworkers who have very loud political conversations constantly in a way where you know it can only get uglier by getting involved 😑

As an erstwhile South Dakotan, it warms my heart (and perhaps more importantly, my toes) to see Minnesotans responding the way they're responding to this travesty. And perhaps moreso, as a fan of the channel, to see you responding the way you have been. Get 'em.

Protestors give politicians the rhetorical space. Activists push the window and let them step through.

Normally, I am opposed to places of religion, and worship getting involved in protest. Normally.
But I was raised an evangelical Christian, and when the church of my childhood supports outright evil. "My house shall be called a house of prayer, you have made it a den of thieves" as Jesus said.

My husband lived in Suozzi's district before moving in with me in Michigan. I bet he's gonna get a major kick out of watching his former neighbors giving Suozzi the response he deserves when he sees this in the morning lol

Seeing these people stand up the way they do to their rep adds fuel to the fire of hope.
I feel inspired!
(My local rep was also one of the 7 that voted for more ICE funding, they've been repeatedly a disappointment since their last election)
