Gary's got the problem and solution sussed. The lives of ordinary people would be so much better _and_ many of the big problems facing the world would be sorted. Making ordinary people fight one another by claiming not enough $ is how the rich keep us all from seeing the underlying problem.

There is plenty to go around for 99.x% of us, but there is a very small group that just can't get enough. They have built systems to funnel money into their pockets, avoid paying their fair share of taxes, and not paying for what their profits cost the rest of us.

Sometimes, when the heat is on, they suggest the wealthy could give more to charity. That is not at all the same as paying their fair share of taxes. It still deprives the state of revenue, and puts expectation of charities addressing things states should be. St. John's is a prime example here.
