How are yall moderating non-bsky lexicons?

I really need to open source Empathy Bureau. It's lexicon-agnostic pre-moderation with bounce-to-mod functionality, which is what we're doing (plus hacked up Ozone) for Roundabout.

I’d love to take a look at that. I’m also curious about Acorn, we should probably also have some community best practices regarding moderation for new lexicons.

Will be a custom labeler in the short term followed by Coop + Osprey

For @grain.social I just have a simple labels table in the appview that’s compatible with the atproto label schema then have a simple admin interface on top of that to view reports and apply labels to records. Doesn’t have to be complicated starting out!

yea this is similar to what i do in plyr.fm (i have a separate db for mod stuff) but i have a labeler that flags copyright fingerprinting matches and DMs me links to moderation.plyr.fm (smol admin interface) where i can resolve/confirm them in batches

Also providing a way to self label would help. I’m going to add that to galleries.

@trezy.codes has been thinking about this and the Community Fund's grant to him was for work on Debuff and tools for missing non-bsky lexicons.

From the labeler end, the same way I’m modeling Bluesky lexicons: building the model for the lexicon in Osprey’s and creating rules. Now, AFAIK no one else has implemented labels on their side, so it does nothing for now.

But you can label Bluesky accounts based on third party lexicons. I’ve only done this as an example but it’s pretty straightforward.

Yeah, that's where I'm thinking it's too hard to implement consuming labels in apps

👀 hasn't been a problem for us so far – i want lexicon embeds in Acorn eventually but in the meantime if apps with custom lexicons want to use our moderation for their app i'm happy to work on a UI that doesn't suck on a case by case basis
