I try not to speak in absolutes like this. I keep thinking maybe there will be a case out there where good grandparents just have to go this route

I’ve yet to see it. And the grandparents ALWAYS win in these cases. Because family law/guardianship/dependency judges always suck. Always.

Like, if a grandparent who had to file a guardianship petition comes across this, I need you to introspect. Because I do mean you. I don’t care how fucked up your child is. Filing a (contested) guardianship petition against your own child is violent abuse. End of.
