its a carving of puppies playing that someone made, not like the actual remains of the puppies after the eruption (dont worry i thought that too at first XD)

they werent intending to depict the event at all they didnt even know itwould happen

this is a statue of puppies made before the eruption and found after they werent trying to make light of it
