Repost. My response is the same. They're going to have to put limits on numbers of executive orders and pardons too.

EO's are NOT settled law. In a normal world, they might should be used as a stopgap to help society in general, but here we are!

And, the pardon thing definitely needs more scrutiny. Gobs of it.

It’s up to them now-all the people that don’t seem to ever do shit to stop him

They won’t do that, because many of the members of that very Congress are some of the people who will be needing his pardons.

I said yesterday that his post should be treated as evidence in his impeachment trial. It's as good as a confession to any rational person.

Or better yet, just remove the temptation altogether.

The law should prohibit any pardon between elections and installation of the new president.

Yes Congress is definitely complicit and so is the SCOTUS.

I guess it means they committed or will commit crimes thus necessitating the need for a pardon.

So by that logic - just like felon47 they are criminals.

Intent to commit a crime should be a mitigating factor.

That is so they don’t flip on him. Rats deserting the ship. He needs to start bribing them early. This is his genius. Blackmail. It has obviously worked for years.

Cowards in Congress need pardons too so no one will be impeaching him. Also because they’re cowards.

What's worse is We know the Republicans play book. It goes right in hand with Voter suppression, the way we vote and wanting 2b King. I bet he has no intention of leaving the WH. Trump is going 2 far with his dream Ball Room like that's HIS house.

They better Stop as much as they can. It's messed up that SCOTUS is having anything 2 do with their illegal rules of law.

Any and all pardons by a criminally convicted president should be rendered null and void. No statue of limitations

If a corrupt prosecutor gets investigated or prosecuted, their past convictions gets reviewed and often gets overturned. Same principle

We need to rewrite the pardon policy. Let’s change it to something like:
It can only take effect if the individual has been convicted, served 75% of their sentence, and no connections to the president or any elected or appointed person. Also, a congressional supermajority can override.
