i dont want people to risk their lives and die but when shit gets dire people will be inevitably forced to act. i keep seeing people rationalizing this and i can guarantee you that should someone decide to act a lot of these people will turn their backs on them rather than join in.

Protesters are *already* risking their lives and dying! US protests have massive casualty rates that people pretend don't exist because losing an eye or half your lung function isn't fatal. But somehow rushing the barricade is anathema, because [ahistorical bs about MLK].

Right? Half the excuse for why the cops are so heavily armed is "what if people shoot at them"; there's loads of guns, they're wretchedly outnumbered, but even going to a protest armed gets these dipshits calling the police.
