Wisconsin progressives have another chance to expand their Supreme Court majority in 2027 with another far-right justice retiring.

If progressives win that seat and expand their majority to 6-1, they would likely control the court until at least 2033, covering the next two presidential elections.

Taylor is on track to win the Wisconsin Supreme Court race with a vote share in the high 50s at least.

Progressives won the (nonpartisan) court race in 2025 by "only" 55-45 after Donald Trump won the state 50-49 in 2024. This is the biggest win for a progressive or Dem candidate in many years

I find it amazing that judges in the USA are elected and are either Democrat or Republican. Judges should not be political.
