I don’t care how much it costs, USPS, AmTrak, NASA, and NPS are the coolest brands the Feds own and the need to be hyped up as much as possible.

The problem AmTrak has is there's no niche for long distance trains in the US. We're too big and our airline infrastructure is too good. "More expensive than an economy plane ticket and slower than driving" just isn't a good sales pitch.

For medium distance trips Amtrak rules, Portland to Seattle or DC to NY are great by train and even if you’re in some small town on the empire builder you deserve options.
