They’re not *my* neighbors; my neighbors are Muslim Arabs. NYC is a huge city and the bigots usually reside in Staten Island which takes a while to get to. If you live in Vancouver, are your neighbors Montréalais?

Canada is just small enough (population) that yes, they are my neighbours.
