It's not the LED light that's the problem. The problem is that so many people are driving SUVs and trucks, and the LED is 4 feet off the ground as a result.

It's both. Cars being larger makes the problem way worse, but oncoming traffic in the other lane (esp. many at once) with super bright LEDs makes it impossible to see a thing over the glare, regardless of height.

I try my best to drive as little as possible at night specifically because of this

No the LEDS still are a problem. I have issues seeing at all no matter what car has them.

Big SUVs and trucks are still an issue but for so many other reasons than just the headlight height. I hate them too

No, the problem is that the vast majority of such things are shitty PWMs that flicker to hell, and don't have properly sharp low beam cutoff lines so that they are effectively *always* high beams.

There's a reason so many are labeled "for off road use only" on packaging, but people use them anyway.
