Everyone who’d complained about the mediocre half-effort AAA industry pushouts should be cheering for this and the chance to put something new into the field.

The same enthusiasm that went towards Markiplier making Iron Lung a smash success “against all Hollywood odds” should be happening here too!

This 100% should have the same enthusiasm.

And as one of the people who can't personally go to see it early in theaters. That's okay, I have my circles where I can hunker down and avoid spoilers. This is an industry changing event that might never happen again. Two weeks is a good tradeoff for it.

10000% agree. This show got me through my worst, seeing it get the attention it deserves makes my heart SOAR

Guess I have a couple months to finally check out Digital Circus and support the theatrical release when it comes time.

It's worth it! Try Murder Drones too!

It feels a little different since this isn't like, a stand-alone movie, this is a series finale to a running series. I can't really find the energy to blame people for being upset in that situation.

I'm so sad I missed out on seeing Iron Lung in theaters 😭😭😭

100%! i've seen some people saying glitch is turning hollywood and im just like??? this is the biggest opportunity AND gift for both glitch and everyone involved. it showcases indie animation, superb voice talents, glorious storytelling, etc.. it opens the doors for more to get this opportunity ♥️

Yep I thought I was insane for thinking about it

Theatres have much more to demand of Glitch than Slopney as they feel like they're doing glitch a favour

Mostly just concerned about the fanbase and how they are around stuff like spoilers. The show is fantastic and absolutely deserves its shot at the big screen, 5000%!

But a loooot of people will probably have trouble stuffing a sock in it for a couple weeks to protect those who can't see it there...

right. i get the disappointment of having to wait two weeks, but people were being entirely too harsh on Glitch... and on anyone who was excited to see the finale in theaters.

Glitch really did try their best to get it in theaters as close to the premiere date as possible.

I'm seeing this as a big accomplishment that cinemas will even show it. Animation, especially indie animation, are always ridiculed and not taken seriously except if it's from Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks etc. The fact that it's coming into theatres should be celebrated.

I mean like, just mute Digital Circus on socials and be patient. Not that big of a deal...

I'm definitely in the camp of cheering this on. It's the same life Undertale and Fear&Hunger gave for me in video games

People shouldn't be toxic about the situation but honestly glitch shouldn't be surprised much either by the backlash, if they went about this by teasing they have some cool plans for episode 9 and explained "hey we're doing this, here's why and how" the reaction online would've been better I think

I'll be honest I still am not uber happy with how its going to turn out. But I am overjoyed that it gets to make it to the big screen and am hopeful it does extremely well. It just stings that closest theater for me will likely stay the same time away as the runtime.

I literally only agree with one criticism that keeps coming up and it's that I hate that some folks are going to get spoiled. That really does suck. But it's dishonesty incarnate to say that's Glitch's fault and that they shouldn't do this because of it

Well, yeah, I can and will celebrate that they were able to get TADC on the big screen.

While asking about the 2 week gap that might lead to some people getting spoiled.

Obviously, I get it now, but before that, I didn't know how working with theatres worked. That's why it didn't make sense to me.

I think about what that lady said at the Oscars
Watch the independent stuff alongside the blockbusters

Great news for people who don't have a job or have a lot of free time. I have 2 jobs, schedules already established months in advance and because of where I live, there's no guarantee that any theater less than an hour or two drive will be playing this. If you live on the coasts, yay for you

👓: This will definitely be a major point for indie animation, no question. Rooting for your success! I'll see if I can get to a nearby theater for it, else I'll wait for the internet drop.

In my experience on the indie field, I’m sad to say a lot of it is virtue signalling.
They don’t want to put the effort in to support indie creators, they want to say they do and wear it like a little badge.

Like Coyote VS Acme. People flight for it but aren’t going to watch it in theatres

Got all my support and then some - suppose quite a few can't see the forest for the trees here and what this sort of thing means for an industry.

Just like all the big name ISPs don't do shit for improving until a local company does it and takes business.

It's kinda universal~

I'm all for anything that causes ripples in the AAA industry and brings more attention to indie studios. It's hard enough tryin to be seen n heard out there, kinda disappointing to hear people have reacted so poorly shortly after Iron Lung's major success.

This is cool. I haven't been to a theater in over two years but this might have me going to it.

I actually find it insane people aren't rooting for this as much as they were for iron lung. I'm seeing the wildest takes about all of this when this is just such a huge great thing. An indie animation in theaters in several countries is crazy!

Yeah this tracks. I knew glitch had the best intentions, sucks to see the theaters be this stingy with them.
