They are mostly annoying when they go to seed, can pull them out then.

If you don't get the whole tap root, where there was one crown, you now have multiple. I found that using a fishing filet knife, I can insert the blade deep next to the tap root and cut it off where it is very difficult to regrow and this takes little effort ant the tap root comes out easily.

I mean they don't annoy me as yellow flowers, only as fluffy garbage. I myself don't even have a yard so who am I to do anything about grasses in a wild field, even if the field looks garbagey during ripe dandelion season.
