stop doing extension and flexion stretches like 1 and 2 unless you want to give yourself carpal tunnel or make your carpal tunnel worse.

Yeah real shit. When dealing with inflammatory syndrome like carpel tunnel you wanna basically just do RICE (you don't really have to raise the limb tho).

If you're special like me and get extra stiff tendons due to hormone issues and hypothyroid, that's what the flexion/extension exercise is for.

100%, using RICE when my wrist would flare up was a real lifesaver during periods where I was overworked.

I haven't substantiated this with evidence yet, but my theory is you can expand your ROM for flexion/extension using contract-release instead of pulling which would be easier on the wrist.

As always with these guides it's "remember to do your stretches!" but no explanation
-how often
-for how long
-for what purpose
-why they work

wonder if some of these change with hypermobility. my range of motion is extended and 2 eases the pressure in my carpal compartment especially after massaging. speaking of which, it's weird self massages aren't ever mentioned in these guides...?

Def gonna check the video but much like the thumb grab, side of wrist stretch the palm grab does me pretty well if I take it slow and in moderation as my carpal stretching since I play keyboard and draw between labor work; especially only as beginning stretches, never as break stretches

Seen out of different responses to stretching like that it’s often people overdoing it in one form or another that causes injury and that ‘boomerang effect’ of preventing carpal and arthritis instead making you more susceptible

it's mostly exercise 1 and 2 that are the big issue. pulls the wrist outside of its normal range of motion and pinches the median nerve.

got myself legitimately excited to try out these exercises because it lets me hit the P Jack
