I hate it, and so far everyone I have ever complained about has at least claimed to hate it lmfao (I complain about it to someone every time I read axios on accident)

Their links are always like “go deeper (<1 min read)”

I think the first few times I read the Brevity formatting I assumed it was an abstract for a real article, I got to the bottom and was confused

If the info is concise and condensed - yes. But so often it's just the same narrative just broken into bullet points.

I can't be the only one who finds it annoying and distracting when it's supposedly helpful.

But I'm also not the target audience for accessible news reporting, as I love nothing more than an extremely detailed deep dive.

You are absolutely not alone. And I don't necessarily love an extremely detailed deep dive either. I just think it's annoying and more than a little insulting

I see Axios is offering an AI you can use if you also want to maul the formatting of your news reporting.

The sentence structures are good-- short, to the point, active voice. But the bullet points are abhorrently chaotic

I remember when they first switched it and I thought "oh this is awful, I'm sure they'll come to their senses soon"

I think it’s pretty gross for news that deserves thoughtful examination, but I will say that my company (50k+ employees) has adopted it for the weekly internal newsletter and it fits that role very well.

This also could serve as a metaphor for Axios writ large

It could have a use in technical writing of Help programs/files, procedures, etc.

Yeah it looks like a protocol. Except poorly organized and a news article
